~ Natural Play Equipment ~

Wild Child Designs use locally sourced natural materials wherever possible. This means that our natural play equipment blends easily into its space. Natural materials are also often more child friendly!

Materials

All the timber used is locally sourced high quality and durable for outside applications, these include-

Oak
This timber is used for a wide variety of woodworking applications but stands alone for its immense strength and durability especially outdoors. For play this is equipment ideally suited for flooring, structural beams, hand rails and ladders and where suitable for carvings as well.
Larch
Like oak this timber is a good all-round durable timber for outdoor use but more suited to being used in the round. Ideal applications are for the upright structures of play towers, agility and balance equipment using the natural shape of the timber for a more natural look with the bark and sap wood taken off then fine sanded.
Douglas Fir
A good all rounder especially for buildings that are not to exposed to the elements, carvings (esp totem like poles)

Fixings All metal fixings, fasteners and screws are stainless steel for rot resistance strength and maintenance. Where applicable for safety covered end caps and recessing of bolt heads will be used.
